Decibullz High Fidelity Earplugs

Model: FLTR-HFE

WARNING

Improper fitting or misuse will reduce effectiveness and may result in hearing loss or injury.

  • Always ensure earpieces are inserted correctly before use.

  • Do not insert molds while hot—allow them to become warm and pliable first.

  • Test your earplugs in progressively louder environments before full-time use.

  • Do not use if you have ear drainage or a perforated eardrum unless approved by a physician.

  • Filters are not hearing protection on their own; they must be used with molded earpieces and tips.

  • Check tip attachment before each use.

  • Remove slowly to avoid damage to the eardrum.

  • Keep parts away from children and pets (choking hazard).

  • Remove all ear piercings before molding.

What’s Included

  • Left and Right EZ Shape Custom Molds

  • 2 High Fidelity Filters (in housing)

  • Silicone Tips – Triple Flange (S/M/L)

  • Carrying Pouch

Materials Needed (Not Included)

  • 2 Ceramic or Glass Cups

  • Kettle or Microwave (for boiling water)

  • Boiling Water

  • Timer

  • Metal Spoon

  • Mirror (recommended)

Molding Instructions

Step 1: Prepare

  • Review video instructions: decibullz.com/high-fidelity-instructions

  • Attach a small silicone tip to each mold (do not use foam tips).

  • Ensure the tip is securely attached by gently pulling.

  • If unsure on size, start small—you can change tips after molding.

Step 2: Heat the Water

  • Microwave: Fill two ceramic/glass cups with 3–4 inches of water and boil.

  • Kettle: Boil water and pour into two cups (3–4 inches each).

  • Do not microwave the mold.

  • Do not use paper, plastic, or Styrofoam cups.

Step 3: Soften the Mold

  • Place one mold per cup to prevent sticking.

  • Let molds sit in the hot water for 5 minutes.

Step 4: Cool

  • Remove one mold using a metal spoon.

  • Let it cool for 30 seconds.

Step 5: Insert Filter

  • Insert the High Fidelity Filter (in housing) into the softened mold.

Step 6: Insert in Ear

  • Insert the assembled earpiece into your ear.

  • Align the tip with your ear canal and press firmly on the filter.

Step 7: Shape

  • Smooth the mold into the concha (bowl) of your ear using your fingertip.

  • Avoid using fingernails.

Step 8: Cure

  • Leave the mold in your ear for 5 minutes.

  • Press on the filter every 30 seconds to reinforce the seal.

Step 9: Remove

  • Remove the mold from your ear.

  • You may now switch to a different size silicone tip if desired.

Step 10: Repeat

  • Repeat the molding process for the other ear, starting at Step 4.

Testing and Fit Tips

  • Talk loudly: your voice should sound slightly reduced in volume.

  • Use a mirror to verify alignment.

  • Try different tip sizes and combinations to get the best fit and seal.

  • Re-mold if the fit feels off or if the seal is weak.

Molding Tips for a Better Fit

  • Start with a smaller tip to simplify molding.

  • Once molded, swap in your preferred tip size.

  • Each ear may require a different tip size.

  • If any part of the mold is too firm, remove the filter and reheat the mold in hot water.

  • For small ears, you can carefully trim the mold slightly and re-soften.

  • For large ears, shape more of a shell around the concha area.

Cleaning Instructions

  • Remove the filters before washing.

  • Clean molds and tips with mild soap and warm water.

  • Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before use.

  • Inspect for damage before each use.

  • Replace tips if torn or loose.

Safety Notes

  • Choking hazard: Keep small parts away from children and pets.

  • Heat exposure warning: Do not leave in hot cars or direct sunlight.
Temperatures above 120°F / 49°C may deform the molds.

  • Do not use with ear infections or open eardrums unless cleared by a doctor.

Remolding Instructions

To re-mold for better fit or comfort:

  1. Remove the filter from the mold.

  2. Reheat the mold in hot water for 3–5 minutes.

  3. Repeat the molding steps.

Testing Your Fit

  • Test in progressively louder environments.

  • Your voice should sound quieter and clearer.

  • If needed, try new tips or re-mold for better seal and isolation.
